Terrazzo grinding is required when there is significant tile lippage, deep scratches that won't polish out, severely uneven sections, or when the floor needs full levelling before restoration. Standard polishing cannot correct these issues — diamond grinding first is essential for a quality result.
We use wet grinding and dust extraction to minimise mess. The area needs to be completely cleared of furniture and cannot be used during grinding. Some slurry is produced which we clean as we work. Most residential terrazzo grinding projects are completed in 1–2 days.
We only remove what is necessary to achieve a level, damage-free surface — typically 1–3mm depending on the severity of damage. Our precision equipment controls the grinding depth exactly. We never remove more terrazzo material than required.
Yes — grinding always leaves a scratched surface that must be refined through progressive honing and polishing. We never leave terrazzo at the grinding stage. After grinding, we work through finer honing grits and finish with polishing to achieve your desired gloss or matte finish.
