Also the shower leaked every time we used it. I contacted Ryan and he was professional, on time and delivered a high quality or work. Even coming back the next week to fix an unexpected issue (big gaps between the floor and wall). The before and after pics show the difference. We are very happy so far.

After having bluestone crazy paving laid, I had a nightmare experience with a previous tradesman who applied a dark-tinted sealer and then unsuccessfully tried to grind it out. The stone looked ruined.
I called Ausfloor Care, and Indie was fantastic. He explained exactly what needed to happen to fix the damage. He managed to restore the bluestone to its beautiful natural color and applied a natural-look sealer that truly highlights the stone. We absolutely love the finished result. If it wasn’t for Indie and his team, I would have given up and tiled over the entire area. Highly recommended!

When is stone grinding necessary?

Stone grinding is required when floors have significant tile lippage, deep scratches that won't polish out, severely uneven sections, or very rough surfaces. If your stone just needs its shine restored, polishing alone may be sufficient. We assess this for free during our on-site inspection.

How disruptive is stone grinding?

Stone grinding requires the area to be completely cleared. We use wet grinding and dust extraction to minimise mess. Some slurry is produced which we clean as we work. Most residential stone grinding is completed in 1–2 days.

How much stone is removed during grinding?

We remove only the minimum necessary — typically 1–3mm depending on damage depth. Our precision equipment controls grinding depth carefully. We never remove more material than required.

Is stone grinding always followed by polishing?

Yes — grinding always leaves a scratched surface that must be refined through progressive honing and polishing. We never leave stone at the grinding stage. After grinding, we work through finer honing grits and finish with polishing to achieve your desired level of shine or matte finish.
