As a guide: marble and limestone benchtops every 1–3 years; marble and granite floors every 3–5 years; outdoor sandstone, limestone and bluestone paving annually; granite benchtops every 5–10 years. Our standard penetrating sealers are completely invisible — no change to colour, sheen or texture. If you want to deepen or enrich the natural colour (particularly popular for bluestone, sandstone and slate), we offer colour-enhancing penetrating sealers that intensify the stone's natural tones while providing full protection.
Most residential stone sealing takes 1–3 hours. After application, stone needs 2–4 hours cure time before light use, and 24 hours for full cure and normal use. We schedule work to minimise disruption to your household or business.
DIY sealers exist, but professional application delivers significantly better protection. We use commercial-grade sealers with higher solids content that bond deeper into the stone. Incorrect DIY application — particularly over-application — leaves a visible white residue on stone that requires professional removal.
